A unique summer camp, a distinctive deep exploration, and a comprehensive connection with nature—reflect on the relationship between human economic lifestyles and environmental protection, form your own unique perspectives and viewpoints for a research paper, lay the foundation for future academic studies, and cultivate independent logical thinking and judgment.
At the same time, make international friends and experience the unique cultural beauty and landscapes!
On a sunny summer vacation, we warmly welcome students from around the world to fly to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and join the NGO camp for a three-week vibrant summer camp focused on exploring economics and ecology!

The first week’s itinerary focuses on learning about Thai culture, including Thai language lessons, Thai customs, Thai cuisine, and Thai Buddhist beliefs, allowing students to gain a preliminary yet concise understanding of Thai culture. This lays a solid foundation for the upcoming research projects and activities.
At the same time, through group discussions, students will determine their research topics, setting research goals and objectives for the following two weeks. Each student will take turns serving as the group leader and facilitator, honing their leadership and adaptability skills.
In addition to collective classes and discussions, the students organize a variety of interactive and recreational activities, such as visiting local orphans without families, exploring the ancient city of Chiang Mai, and interacting with local temples.

In the second week, the entire group travels to Chiang Rai, delving into remote rural communities. By integrating local culture and natural conditions, they engage in conversations with community leaders, visit the homes of local villagers, and gain an understanding of the economic, cultural, and environmental challenges faced by the community. Through group discussions and research, they further refine their research topics and projects.
The students deeply engage in the daily lives of the villagers, learning various agricultural techniques and handicraft skills from them while experiencing the everyday challenges faced by the villagers. They also get to taste local specialty foods and immerse themselves in the unique local culture.
In the third week, the students fly back to Bangkok and visit a beautiful fishing village untouched by tourists—facing the sea, with blue skies, white clouds, and fine sandy beaches.

The students participate in the local seagrass planting program, researching the relationship between changes in the natural environment and economic development. At the same time, they join local fishermen on their fishing trips, investigating the connection between the fishermen’s economic livelihood and the natural environment.
In this beautiful fishing village, the students collaborate with local community leaders to discuss how to balance local economic development with the natural environment, as well as the challenges they face. They explore sustainable development through a circular economy model. Through group discussions, they further solidify the research topics and projects established in the second week, supplementing and refining them with additional evidence and information.
The exciting Exploration of Economics and Ecology Summer Camp quickly turns its final pages, reaching the last two days. The students submit their various research topics and project reports, and each takes the stage to present the evidence and perspectives of their research, explaining from different angles how economics and ecology can be organically integrated, while proposing relevant solutions. The Thailand Health Promotion Foundation awards research certificates.
We conclude this “Thai” wonderful Exploration of Economics and Ecology Summer Camp with the beautiful marine life photos taken by the students! We look forward to all the students participating in future Exploration of Economics and Ecology Summer Camps.
